Intimate Outdoor Wedding | Jansen + Clayten

Jansen and Clayten's intimate outdoor wedding took place in Jansen's grandparent's backyard in Hermiston, Oregon. It was so beautiful and sentimental. This particular wedding was a good reminder that you don't need to go all out on a spendy wedding venue to have a gorgeous ceremony and reception. Jansen and Clayten will cherish this day with the memory of their wedding day at her grandparents' home, which is so special. Follow along for more inspiration for your backyard wedding.

THE AYRES LATE SUMMER INTIMATE OUTDOOR WEDDING

Jansen and Clayten first met when Clayten was her little brother, Rustin's baseball coach. They've both always had a love for sports. Things clicked fairly soon between the two, and the rest was history.

On their wedding day, the bride and groom got ready at her grandparent's house, which was so tender. Jansen wore a classy wedding dress with lace detailing on the top and train and buttons down the back. She was most looking forward to their private vows, and Clayten was looking forward to their first kiss. It was CRAZY windy leading up to the ceremony, and Jansen's poor hair was flying everywhere. But she was a super good sport and didn't let it bother her. They had a first look, and Clayten was very emotional before he saw her come out. They read private vows before the ceremony in front of a beautiful bush with pink flowers- and they both cried.

A CEREMONY TO REMEMBER

This was the largest guest count I had worked with- I think there were over 300 people that attended. Their first kiss and dip were PERFECT! But then, as they walked back down the aisle, they went to dip and kiss again, and he DROPPED HER. I won't even make you paint that picture in your head, peep the series of photos below- haha. They laughed, and it was great. Her dad and brother made the 'LOVE' sign at the reception, which was so sweet and made for a great photo prop. Their first dance was a dream, and the light fell on them perfectly. The groom did Karaoke to Love Shack by The B-52's (raise your hand if you have also sung this at karaoke) and had the time of his life. Their guests knew how to party, and everyone, including myself, had a blast on that intimate outdoor wedding night.

"Josie is meant to be a photographer! My husband and I had our engagement photos taken in January 2022 at a gorgeous location. The first location we originally wanted was snowed in and the location that we ended up at was even better. Josie had to travel, however, that did not stop her from bringing enthusiasm and a calm demeanor. I was nervous that we would be awkward in front of the camera but she did amazing at giving us poses and keeping us comfortable. She also brought hand warmers because it was literally freezing outside.

On our wedding day, she was even more amazing. She handled the day like a pro and gave tips that one wouldn't normally think of but because she's done it a time or two she has picked up the tricks. My husband and I have a very large family and we actually got pictures done ahead of time, how often does that happen?! All due to their professionalism and time management. Additionally, she made sure that the groom and I were taken care of, gave water throughout pictures, and often asked how we were doing. A sweet surprise that I will cherish forever is the behind-the-scenes videos that Josie and our second photographer took. We did not have a videographer but due to these videos, we can now put a video together to look back on for memories.

Josie made our day AMAZING and I could go on and on. However, all you need to do is meet Josie once and you will understand exactly where I'm coming from!"
